We’re in the holiday mood this month with articles on route planning and travel preparation as well as for dealing with stress. This can be a particular issue when in an unfamiliar environment and when confronted by the problems that often occur on a journey.

I’d also like to remind Associate Members that you can earn a FREE OR by sharing your knowledge and experience with other LAMkins. All you have to do is to send an article in to Progress magazine. This can be on anything of interest, your bike, your riding gear, an experience you’ve had while riding or even a café you’ve visited. Just send it to me at editor@l-a-m.org

Worried about the price of petrol; don’t like sharing group rides with 1200cc behemoths that blast past you on the straights or just want to be able to park without risking back strain? Why not ride a smaller bike?  With less power on instant tap making progress requires thought, planning and awareness of your bike’s abilities and limitations and can be more rewarding than on a larger and more technically complex machine.

Subject to there being sufficient interest there will be a social ride for Members and Associates scoring 80+ riding bikes of under 650cc on 14th August from Westerham Car park to Eridge Deer Park Café.

    Regards

    John
