Members’ Survey - Summary

OK, you’ve passed your test, or in my case scraped through. What does LAM offer you as a Full Member beyond the chance to take part in occasional rides, mainly within the southern counties and an annual trip to Wales?

LAM committee recently carried out a survey with a view to improving its offer to members who choose to remain involved after passing their test.

• 68 members responded and there was generally a good level of enthusiasm for a more varied range of activities.
• There was particular enthusiasm for rides during the summer months which start early (73%)
• Rides in the summer that take place after work (44%)
• 74% would be interested in 2-3 day weekend and midweek (41%)
• A massive 76% wanting continental trips.
• 53% were interested in technical presentations e.g. from suspension or tuning specialists
• 61% wanted more input from the Training Team
• 65% were interested in track days
• 55% in honing their off-road skills.
• There was also some enthusiasm for more social activities 44% wanting evening and 56% daytime meals, coffee, drinks etc.

However; even leading a members’ ride takes some planning and organisation, much more is involved in making arrangements with other providers, organising accommodation etc. None of this will happen without members being willing to put in the groundwork. 23 responders were definitely or possibly interested in organising one or more events. So if you want LAM to put on more of the type of event that interest you then now’s the time to put your name forward. See also this month’s Chair’s Chatter.
