We're looking for a new Editor for Progress, with a good sense of humour and knowing what makes an interesting angle to a story. Sadly, after 48 issues, our present Editor will be stepping-away from the role. The November AGM and November Progress will be his last issue.
You'll plan, co-ordinate, review and edit content. In order to meet quality and accuracy standards, you'll be able to decide which ideas should be pursued and which should get dropped. The goal is to provide exceptional, informative and engaging content.
Responsibilities
Co-ordinate online publishing cycle and manage content
Set publication standards
Suggest stories and generate headline ideas for the LAM membership i.e. the System, Roadcraft, Road Safety and how it affects the motorcyclist, IAM RoadSmart etc
Oversee layout (artwork, design, photography) and check content for accuracy and errors
Proofread, edit and improve articles, keeping the magazine current, engaging, informative and interesting for the membership
Recruit writers
Meet deadline requirements
To continue to produce Progressas the monthly published LAM magazine – 12 issues per year
Requirements
Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills
Hands on experience with MS Office or MacOffice
Excellent written skills in English
An eye for detail along with critical thinking
