This month’s café of the month sees LAM embracing the ‘clean eating’ craze, which has become increasingly recognised as an essential part of the high-performance motorcyclist’s self-care regime. So out go the greasy burgers and additive laden bacon sandwiches and sausage rolls; in come roasted Mediterranean vegetables on flatbread.

The Pure Planet Café is located at the Eternal Lake Nature Reserve close to Cliffe Woods on the Isle of Grain, Kent. It’s accessed down a steep loosely gravelled track, which I’d hesitate to negotiate in wet weather and is one of a number of enterprises which have sprung up around this former carp fishing lake.

There’s a pretty good selection of food, including eggs and mushrooms on toast, flatbreads, salads etc, loads of milkshakes, smoothies and exceedingly good cakes, which were much appreciated. There’s plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the lake, staff are friendly and the food came in a reasonable time.

Definitely worth trying if you’re riding the lanes in this part of Kent.
