This month we have an item from the Training Team on the important topic of slow riding. Many of us don’t fancy a long ride in winter, but it’s an opportunity to go to a quiet corner of a car park and practise your U turns and figures of eight. Try it ‘despacito’!
If you are out for a ride then you’ll need a warm up after a couple of hours on the road. There’s a new item on biker friendly cafes: why not nominate your favourite café so that others can take advantage as a stop off or destination, even if only for take-away for the present?
If you’re not out on the bike, why not watch a film with bike content? We’ll be looking at some classics over the next three months.
We’re continuing the Meet the Associate feature with Isabel Epstein, who has a very interesting biking and motorsport background. I have a couple more volunteers in the pipeline, but if you are an Associate who would like to be featured please let me know.
I know that most Associates, Members and Observers look forward to analysing the group’s monthly scorecard in detail, perhaps using statistical modelling techniques to see where we’ll be in five years’ time. However; due to the lull in activity within the group our score card will appear on a three-monthly basis from now on
We always need fresh ideas and input to keep the magazine interesting – so please don’t hold back, all ideas to editor@l-a-m.org
