Night Vision Speed Cameras

Police in Cleveland and Durham are using night vision speed cameras to catch speeding motorists.

The joint Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit will be operating across various locations in the two areas - some units will be in plain view while others will be hidden.The cameras, made by Truvelo, have infra-red capability which can be used in low light levels. Four mobile safety vans will use a mix of internal sensors or external roadside lamps on a tripod.
